This is a hands-on role working on all in-house projects from start to finish. You will report to the Project Manager and will be driven, open-minded, pro-active and with a positive attitude to work. You will be required to work on your own initiative and as part of a small team which can, at times, be under pressure to turn things around quickly. You may be required on occasions to visit external suppliers or agents in the UK or overseas and therefore must hold a valid UK driving licence and a passport that freely allows international travel.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining current websites and admin areas
- Integration with current and future banking partners and payment gateways
- Integration with selected third party supplier sites through APIs
- SEO evaluations, data tracking, subscription management, customer emailers
- In depth knowledge of database management and migration
- Work with Creative Director to improve front-end user experiences on all sites
- Make recommendations for best practices regarding data collection and management
- Identify risks, issues and problems quickly and accurately and resolving in a timely, structured and logical way, considering possible eventualities and options
- Ensuring all new developments are fully tested and quality controlled before making live
- Holistic approach to security across all platforms and systems
- Reviewing and upgrading current processes and procedures
- Building positive relationships with colleagues, clients and partners
Your skill set MUST include:
- LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP5)
- JavaScript
- AJAX and SOAP
- XML, XHTML and CSS/DOM
- W3C compliance knowledge
Desirable skills (not essential):
- jQuery
- .NET
- DB Extra
- Coldfusion
- Flash AS3
- Ruby on rails
To apply for this role you must have at least 3 years relevant experience in web development, with knowledge of e-commerce and SEO an advantage. You will be required to demonstrate a track record of success. You will be a graduate or qualified by experience with excellent English telephone and written communication skills. Strong ambition, initiative and attention to detail are essential.
Applicants must be available for immediate start and salary will be based on experience.
