I need to develop a full specification for the project but I can summarise the key features below. I am expecting any quote therefore to be an indicator which can be changed once I provide a full specification.
I run a training business and need a system to manage my courses. I need something to:
1. Allow me to populate a database with course dates for a variety of different courses and delivery types
2. Population of course dates to have a recursive option, i.e. every week or every month at that location
3. Table for venues to allow linking between courses and venues
4. Code to allow the display of course listings on the public website (though the creation of the public website is out of scope for this project)
5. Manage course enrolments (there are some issues to overcome here, see example scenario course below)
6. price changes for each course place relating to flexible rules around current course enrolment levels e.g. price can go up when fewer places are available
7. Manage billing, i.e. simple tag against each delegate to show they’ve been billed for the course and/or payment received
8. Overview screen showing profit per course.
9. Ability for delegate to book onto the course using online payment
10. Automatic triggers to send out pre-reading and joining instructions upon payment or manual trigger. The pre-reading and joining instructions would ideally be template based and depending on the course and venue those details would be pushed into the document, ideally pdf based to allow easy printing for the delegate.
11. Electronic course evaluation form automatically sent out after the course
Course scenario:
We often run courses for “PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner” where delegates attend for five days from one client and:
- Some take just the foundation part Monday to Wednesday
- Some take just the practitioner part Thursday to Friday
- Some take both
All of these would be listed on the website as separate courses but in the database we need to keep a relationship between them as the room will have a maximum number of say 12 so we can't allow bookings across the three course options to go over this and in terms of managing the course it would be easier to see them as one within the course management system.
